Religious doctrine should never be involved in any governmental body if the population is not representative of that faith. In the US, religion should not be mandated or involved in government. If someone is religious and holds elected office, then of course their religion might influence them ideologically and philosophically, but no one should be forced to follow their scriptures or have their religious mandates in law. On public property, I can understand there being religious symbols due to historical significance, but I would not be in favor of adding more. I would not take down historically significant religious structures. Prayer should not be in publicly funded school. Private schools can do as they wish.
Religious Freedom:
Protections for conscience (bakers, photographers refusing services)? Limits on practices (polygamy, female genital mutilation, honor violence)?
Any private individual or company can refuse however they see fit for any reason, government should only step in when sentient rights are violated or regulating for consumer protection. Religious practices that are sentient rights violations should be completed banned.
Islam & Extremism:
Approach to Sharia, no-go zones, immigration from Muslim-majority countries, counter-radicalization?
Islamism is not compatible with western society. It is an ultra far right, ultra theocratic, medieval ideology that constantly offends on sentient rights violations. We should not be importing migrants from Muslim countries. For enemies of the U.S. that grow in number to foment these dangerous and anti-sentientist beliefs - like Muslim terror groups - proactive eradication.
Christianity & Western Heritage:
Role in national identity, public life, education?
I believe western heritage and Christian values are generally positive, though I would not mandate scripture to be taught in any public setting. Our nation’s identity was built on one of God and the values of religious freedom. Christianity is positive, in its moderation. Dangerous in its extremism. I believe a western, Christian society is absolutely superior to anti-western Islamic society.
Atheism/Secularism vs Faith:
Government neutrality or preference for secularism? Blasphemy laws?
Government shall be neutral to religion that are not in battle with sentient rights. If any religion, for any reason, battles against sentient rights, that aspect of religion should be banned. Separation of religion and government is preferred. No blasphemy laws.
Religious Exemptions:
From laws (vaccines, taxes, military service, anti-discrimination)?
There generally should not be religious exemption from the bare minimum of public taxes that everyone pays, or vaccines that are mandated for critical public safety. Religious exemption from military service should not exist. You are an American first, your religion is secondary. Churches and religious organizations should pay taxes just like any other institution. Their taxes do not give them any right to influence government or hold power to push doctrine, as church-state separation in law comes before their tax collection. The rule of law and sentient rights protections hold more strongly over any individual, organization, or corporation that submits taxes.
